I want to capture you. I want to get to know you first, I want to know what makes you tick, what makes you laugh, what excites you. I want to see your smile lines, I want to put onto canvas exactly what makes you you.
I want you to remember how beautifully fuzzy your newborn baby was in those first few weeks, their blotches, their milk bumps, all the things that makes a newborn perfect, just the way they are.
I might ask you to pose with your partner and gaze into their eyes, but what I'm really trying to do, is catch those moments in between, when you forget about trying to look good, and just start laughing.
I might get your daughter to stand sweetly and your son to smile at the camera, but what I really want, is the shot of when they get bored of the camera and start running around giggling.
I want them to show me the cool shell they found, how high they can jump, what their dog is called, and how much they smile when they talk about him.
(Speaking of which, please bring your dog).
What to expect:
Get in touch to let me know what you're looking for. We can speak on the phone, or work out the details over email, whatever is easiest for you.
We'll meet for a chat before hand to spend a bit of time getting to know each other before our shoot, we'll get a coffee and discuss exactly what you're hoping to capture, which will mean being more relaxed for the shoot itself.
We’ll organise a time and place for us to work - think about somewhere you’ll feel comfortable and where you’ll want to remember.
On the day, you'll meet Iman, your make up artist, and we'll chat and I'll take a few shots while she's working her magic to get you more relaxed in front of the camera. I know most people aren’t used to being photographed and you'll probably feel shy - that’s normal! So we won’t launch into full blown wind machine shots straight away (or at all if I’m honest).
In our session, we'll take some candid, and posed images but the main aim is that we have fun together! The session might run over as I'll want to make sure I get every shot just right,
I know you'll be itching to see the results - we'll find a time 10 days after your session to view your gallery together, choose your images & discuss your printed artwork - how many, what style, canvas or framed- the works (don't worry, I can explain all your options and show you examples to make it all really easy).
Your printed artwork will be ready after 12 working days for you to display, share and admire.
Here's what I can promise:
You will look fantastic, I know when and how to capture that moment when you're happiness is shining through, and that, my friend, is a really good look on anyone (and also, every session includes a professional make up artist, because the best way to make you look great is to make you feel great)
Today is all about you. Your love, your joy, your family. My aim is to make you feel like a million dollars.
We're going to get to know each other. It's really important that you and I grab a coffee first (on me), have a yarn, tell each other a story or two, and then we can get to the nitty gritty of what we're going to create together, and why it's important to you.
You'll probably cry. There's not too many professions where a customer saying they burst into tears when they see the results is considered proof of a job done really well, but turns out that's the line of work I'm in, and it really does give me butterflies to bring that much happiness to people.
I'm all about art you can hold in your hands. Remember when you'd go through your grandparents old draws, and find those big, musty books full of memories, names and dates scrawled on the back in blue handwriting, those dapper clothes, those long lost smiles, and you'd say "is that really you? You look so happy!" That's what we're making here. You've got a hard drive full of snaps, that's not why you've come to me. You've come to me for something special, something that lasts, something you're proud to display, something that you're going to look at every day with joy for years to come, something you can show your grandkids.
